Valentine's Day

The holidays are always a timeless blur of activity and rest, a strange pairing that seems to leave us all floundering to return to our regular schedules. I don’t know about you, but January felt like an extension of that strange holiday time warp, the solution to which I believe can only be more frequent and longer holidays, to reduce the shock to our systems.

Joking aside, we have somehow made it through January and are already well into 2019. Can you believe that?

As we head towards Valentine’s Day, I once again have love on my mind. I have been extremely fortunate in life to be surrounded by love, bolstered and supported by my family, friends, students, and of course, my wonderful husband.

I know how very lucky I am, and I’m grateful every day for the gift of love, which makes even the most mundane task more meaningful.

But there's another, more personal reason Valentine's Day is so special to me.

It’s especially poignant because my husband and I originally planned to get married on Valentine’s Day. Though we wound up getting married on February 12th due to scheduling issues, it still holds a very special place in my heart as our “almost” wedding day.

Many of you may not know that my husband, Jim, is my artistic partner as well. When I design for Sew Special, I tell him what I’m imagining, and he’s often the one who deftly brings it to life through his sketches. Somehow, he always seems to understand just what I want, regardless of what I asked for.

I knew he had a gift for illustration early on, but I never imagined where life would take our artwork. He certainly never imagined it would be sold as embroidery designs, but I’m so pleased to be able to share our favourite works of art with you this Valentine’s Day.

Use code HEART now through February 14 for 14% off your order, from our hearts to yours.

Until next time,

Kerrin
