'Tis the season...

Can you believe it's almost Christmas? As a child, it always seemed to me that Christmas came around all too infrequently. Once a year felt like an absolute eternity (especially to wait for toys), yet as an adult, it seems like every time I blink, another year has gone by.

I'm excited to share some of favourite seasonal designs (and some special surprises) with you all in the weeks to come. Pictured above is the Christmas Train, which can be either a festive tree skirt or a beautiful wall hanging, depending on your personal style and preferences.

This design  was recently featured in Designs in Machine Embroidery magazine, which includes an exclusive article on how to add "Merry Christmas" text for added holiday flair. I like to think it makes it extra special, and I hope you will, too.

As you begin to prepare for the flurry of activity that Christmas invariably brings, and you start thinking about celebrating those dear to you, I hope you'll take a moment to slow down, breathe, and enjoy the moment.

Sometimes I wish I could still experience time the way I did as a child, and I think that's part of what I love about embroidery. The act of creating takes me back to a quieter, simpler time, and all the nonsense falls away so I can remember what's really important.
