Happy Holidays from Sew Special!

Posted by Kerrin Brookes on

And just like that, it’s almost Christmas! Can you believe it?

Christmas was always an outrageously fun holiday for me, and one that centered deeply on family. Growing up, we lived on the same property as my aunt and uncle. Everyone was very close, as it was a pair of brothers married to a pair of sisters, and each family had five children. It was quite a crowd!

Lest We Forget

Remembrance Day holds a personal meaning for me and my family, as it does for many Canadians. My father served in World War II, but rarely spoke of it after he came home. What are you doing this weekend?

Posted by Kerrin Brookes on

Do you all have fun long weekend plans? I certainly hope so!There’s a noticeable chill in the mornings now, a reminder of what’s to come: vibrant foliage in hues of dappled red and gold, a crisp sharpness in the air, over-sized mugs filled with steaming tea, and the warmth of time shared with friends and family while the world enters a state of rest and renewal. As we bid goodbye to another sun-drenched summer, I’m taking the time to look inwards and reflect on all the things I find most magical about the changing of seasons. To be honest, I can...
